The EMPRISE Blackpool programme was designed to provide training and employment opportunities for local people, especially those who found themselves excluded from the mainstream employment market.

An award winning programme, EMPRISE Blackpool was led by Blackpool Council and delivered a range of services designed to improve the local environment.

Project EMPRISE Blackpool

Project EMPRISE Blackpool ran between January 2006 and March 2008. It was an EU funded programme that sought to bring about improvements in local economies and local living conditions by engaging job seekers in the delivery of local services. The programme has now ended.

Waste Collection and Recycling Services

The waste collection and recycling service originally created by the EMPRISE Blackpool project is still available and fully operational. During its transition from a publicly funded programme to a social enterprise, the service and all waste collection staff are being supported by Blackpool Borough Council.
